Sunday night and all is well. I guess I have a few things to share about my weekend. Saturday is my favorite day of the week. Always full of rest and adventure. So Nevada and I decided to help out at this English Club. Sort of a group function offered at a church to give Taiwanese young people a place to work on their english. It was o.k. But the highlight came at the end when a few of the high school students invited us to go to a pop concert with them. It was a free gig at the local university. It was awesome (hahaha) We got to this large auditorium and all the kids were sitting on the floor waiting for things to start up. The show started with the introduction of the principal and the master teachers. This was funny cuz they babbled on stage for like 20 minutes and we just cheered at different parts so it looked like we were following what was going on. Then the first act came on. Some Taiwanese "Christina Aquilera" girl, named Landy. She sang some mushy r&b and did some sexy dancing and then left the stage. Then the next act was a solo guy who also serenaded us with some cheesy love music. Finally, it was time for the main act. It was sort of an eighties looking punk/pop band. The lead singer played on of those guitar-keyboards. It was terrible but the backup singers were sweet. They did some running on the spot and some other fancy moves. We left after one song. What a show!?!? Then we went for supper at a curry restaurant called the Spice Shop. I've been waiting to eat there since I got here. It was delicious (even though I paid the price later). To end the evening we headed to a friends place to watch some movies. On the way I had my first scooter accident. Get this, I actually stopped for a red light and this guy totally rear ends me(the lesson: there's no need to follow traffic rules in Taiwan). It hurt but generally I was ok and so was my bike. His scoot was losing some panels but he was good too. Since I can't speak the language I didn't do much about it but no one really does here, just drive away...That was my Saturday. Sunday I woke up early and enjoyed a delicious McDonalds hot cake breakfast (gross) and played guitar in church. It was a communion service and God was there, so fun. well that's enough for now.
