Time to check in again. For those of you that know or don't know, I smoke a pipe. It's sort of one of my hobbies. Anyways this past Saturday Nevada and I sat around the house all day. At about 8:30 I suggested that she come with me to the pipe shop to meet my new Taiwanese friends. She agreed to come if she could bring her book. They normally close at 10 so we hurried to get there by about nine o'clock. I introduced Nevada and everyone said she was so beautiful and so young. Those are both true statements. I should say that I'm friends with the owner Kevin and so when 10 o'clock rolls around he says, "You can stay, no worries." Nevada was having a great time reading and chatting and I was busy teaching English and learning Chinese. So then his buddies come in with a bottle of wine. They are very hospitable and offer us some. We graciously accepted. It was great Red wine. Then they opened another bottle and this went on for the next couple hours. Then this one guy gets up and leaves. He returns 10 minutes later with food for everyone. What started out as a little trip turned into a four hour evening full of laughs and cultural exchange. The store stayed open until at least 1 am when we were leaving. Then they invited us to dinner the following Saturday. It's fun being in a country where you are a celebrity just because you're a native english speaker. So this weekend is the big dinner with Kevin and his friends from "Kevin Pipe Shop" that's right no " 's ". I'll let you know how it goes.
