Bob Villa, Tim Allen and Al are some of the names you could call me this week. Nevada and I are moving into a new basement suite at the end of the month. We happen to know the owners of the house and they were thinking of renovated the suite, so we decided to take the place and help with the reno. It's been a lot of fun. They let us choose new paint colors and new flooring so it's really personlized. Almost feels like our own place. Anyways this week and next week are full of projects. We took out the old carpet and underneath it was this foamy stuff glued to the floor. So many hours this week have been spent chipping away at this foam and we finally finished that last night. At this stage I need to mention Ryan and Allison who have done a lot of the work and help us when we're there. (They are our friends who live in the upstairs of the house.) Ryan has been filling in the holes in the wall and sanding them down and him and his dad have offered to re-paint the ceiling this weekend. Needless to say we've been busy but it'll be so worth it. By the end of next week the place should be painted and ready for the carpet laying guys and after that it's done and we're ready to move in. YEAH!!
Our other project is an old desk we found at Value Village. We found this beautiful old wooden desk at V.V. for 30 bucks. Most desks these days are just fake wood but this is the real thing. We've taken over my mom's garage and are trying our best to bring life back to this desk. We've been sanding and sanding and sanding.....But we should be finished that tonight and then it's time to stain which is the exciting part. We've chosen ebony stain (black) it should be modern looking with a hint of classic wood. We're excited..........We also bought an old trunk from V.V. and it's sweet too. It's going to be our coffee table. Nevada sanded it down and cleaned it up. The next step is painting it bright yellow. So that's what we've been up to...We look forward to having many gatherings at our new place so keep that in mind...give us an e-mail and book a visit with us...Bye
