I'm having a rough weekend. Our trip to Hoop It Up was dissapointing. On Saturday we played in the cold rain and won one lost one. Then today it cleared up a bit but we lost our must win game and were eliminated from the playoffs. A 5 hour drive, several hundreds of dollars, crappy weather and only 3 games. We got second in our division last year and this year we were terrible. It's easy enough to get over but we don't get another chance until next year and that's the sucky part. Then I came home tonight to see my Lakers get beat down again. I have repeatedly said that the Pistons are a great team and I have no problems with them winning the series. I wish people would lay off a bit on the Laker abuse hurled my way. I am a fan....I don't go on the court and play the games. I cheer for my boys but I don't ever cheer against the other teams...(except for the Spurs). People lately sort of attack me personally which I think is uncalled for. I'd rather hear people saying "Go Pistons" but instead it's all this "Beat LA" business. Oh well....I'll live but maybe people could lay off a bit this week until I get some of my thick skin back.

On a happy note......my wife Nevada finally got a teaching job. She will be teaching Band in the fall in Kindersley. I will stay here for the time being because I will either be working here and taking part-time classes or I'll be going to school full-time. We'll have to get the most out of weekends and holidays.....and the odd supper date in Rosetown. I think it'll be a good time for us to be apart because Nevada will need some space to really work hard and commit the time and energy she wants to into the job. God will keep our bond strong. We both believe that he is in control of this situation and we have to trust him.
