The most wonderful time of the year...

In the last few years I've jumped on the Dave Matthews bandwagon. His music is wonderful: musically and lyrically. I have a lot of his music and listen to it often so I have to admit that sometimes I don't focus and it becomes background music. Last week I was listening to "The Christmas Song" by Dave Matthews (not the traditional "Chestnuts roasting..." but his own song), and I actually paid attention to the lyrics. It's a powerful song that talks about the birth and ministry of Jesus...I was blown away and have since listened to it many times. I'm not sure if Dave is a Christian or not but this song gets to the heart of the season...if you can get your hands on it you really should listen to the words and enjoy.

The Christmas Song
By: The Dave Matthews Band

She was his girl; he was her boyfriend
She'd be his wife and make him her husband
A surprise on the way, any day, any day
One healthy little giggling dribbling baby boy
The wise men came three made their way
To shower him with love
While he lay in the hay
Shower him with love love love
Love love love
Love love is all around
Not very much of his childhood was known
Kept his mother Mary worried
Always out on his own
He met another Mary for a reasonable fee, less than
Reputable as known to be

His heart full of love love love
Love love love
Love love is all around
When Jesus Christ was nailed to his tree
Said "oh, Daddy-o, I can see how it all soon will be
I came to shed a little light on this darkening scene
Instead I fear I've spill the blood of my children all around"

The blood of my children all around
The blood of my children all around
So I'm told, so the story goes
The people he knew were
Less than golden hearted
Gamblers and robbers
Drinkers and jokers, all soul searchers
Like you and me

Rumors insisted he soon would be
For his deviations
Taken into custody
By the authorities less informed than he.
Drinkers and jokers. all soul searchers
Searching for love love love
Love love love
Love love is all around

Preparations were made
For his celebration day
He said "eat this bread and think of it as me
Drink this wine and dream it will be
The blood of our children all around
The blood of our children all around
The blood of our children all around"

Father up above, why in all this hatred do you fill
Me up with love, love, love
Love love love
Love love love
Love love's all around
Father up above, why in all this anger do you fill
Me up with love, fill me love love love
Love love love
Love love love
Love love love
Love love love
Love love love
And the blood of our children all around

No Lorranda around today. She has a bit of motion sickness,I didn't get her password. Tomorrow is our first post stop. G'pa spends most of his time: eating, gambling and sleeping. I have had some sun and been in the pool. Last nite we were karoke, g'ma wanted to go. Had lobster for the first time yesterday. Meeting people from all over, new friend from Savannah,Ge.
