Stress has been lifted

As we walked out the doors of the airport this morning I have to admit that all the stress of travelling was instantly lifted and my soul felt at peace. I find travel days really hard with baggage concerns, long lines, tough security, crammed spaces, bad food, turbulence, long hours, no sleep and general sense of transientness. The feelings were compounded this time because we've been in travel mode for about a week now. (2 days in Calgary, 4 days in L.A. and a 14 hour plane ride to Taiwan) It's funny how much this place has become home. It's not at all the same as Saskatoon but it draws me in. We got into town at 5:30 am and caught a ride into town with a guy driving a black Mercedes...it was a nice ride. We dropped off our stuff at Andy and Audrey's (we're staying at their place for a few days because our new apartment is not ready yet) and we chilled for a few minutes. Then we made the decision not to sleep but to fight through the day. We did a lot: went to the school, went to our old place, picked up our bikes, went grocery shopping, went to B&Q (Home Depot), went to Costco, visited with the new teachers, cooked and ate supper and now we're finally relaxing. I don't have much else to say because my energy level is dropping with every tap on keyboard...I hope to get a good night's rest and post again tomorrow.

I am so excited to see you guys when I get back. I'm glad you're back and feeling good. I wasn't sure when you were getting in, so I was glad to see this post. I'm heading up to NYC tonight- I fly out thursday afternoon- and should be arriving in Taipei Friday night.

Get this: Ali and I are on the same flight from Tokyo to Taipei...we didn't even plan it! Again, it's great to hear that you're back, and I'm looking forward to seeing you soon! I've missed you both!!

Home is always where your stuff is and your passion is. Glad to hear you are safe and have a place to lay your head down on and sleep.
My home is still your home away from home as long as your stuff is here.

What up dawg?

I gotta say that I miss Taiwan every time I read your blog. It's good to hear that you're back in the East safe 'n sound. Can't wait to catch up again sometime in the future.
