Boyz II Men: Update

I'll start with the only negative. The concert was on the short side. They played for about an hour and then walked off...they came back on for a three song encore and left again...they back once more for one song. In total they played for just over an hour and a half.

But it was an hour and a half of magic. I don't know what it is about their music that strikes a chord with me but it does. As they serenaded us songs that reminded me of high school (my fav time of life) I was captivated. The two brothers Wanya and Nathan sounded just like they did on CDs. Shawn, the other one, was struggling with a cold or something but remained the spokesperson throughout keeping the crowd in touch and involved. They played all the classics: On Bended Knee, I'll Make Love To You, Motownphilly and End of the Road. They also did a few of the lesser known songs that I love: Color of Love and Song For Mama. I got really angry when they left the stage after their first encore and hadn't played my favorite song, It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday, but soon thereafter they came back out on the stage. Shawn let us know that they had no more background music ready but they would try to do a little something Acapella. They sang it and I was almost in tears. Their synergy is amazing and that made the whole concert worthwhile. Despite the shortness of the show I had a great time and am so glad that I saw that poster on the street on Monday and I'm happy they didn't cancel on me again.

(here's a crappy video I shot using my digital camera just to prove I was really there)
