Thanks to the class I'm taking I got thinking about marriage today. In Shakespeare's time a lot of marriages happened because of money and property and not so much for love. It's a starnge thing to get my 21st century head around. It's especially strange to think that it still happens in different parts of the world today. How could you spend your life with someone that you hooked up with for material gain and material gain only. Or how could you learn to love someone that your parents decided on for you. I'm sort of a romantic guy and I can't imagine a relationship without the initial chase and then the ensuing passion. I love "LOVE". It's key to so many things in this world and to live in a time where LOVE didn't really matter must've been so sad. Marriage can be tough enough for two people who are in love but I can't imagine the feelings of loneliness and despair that would result from being in an unfulfilling marriage. I guess what I'm saying is that I love our system of seeking out someone who we love and want to share our lives with. It's so fulfilling and passionate. I love my wife so much and I miss her!!!
