So I'm at it again tonight with the BBQ. It's become the latest fad in our household. But this time starting it up becomes a fairly smokey affair. The paper that I used was just smoking and not burning. So anyways I lived through the blinded eyes phase and thought everything was cool. However, 10 mins later our apartment guard (security guy) comes up to our place and rings the doorbell. In chinese and with a little sign language he was able to tell me that someone upstairs was complaining about the smoke. I agreed to put it out. But when he left I kept it going and cooked some fabulous steaks for my beautiful wife and I. Before my Nevada could leave work I called and asked her to pick up some flowers for our neighbor so that we could smooth over the smoke incident. When she got home we went upstairs and handed them the flowers. In my pitiful chinese I said. "I give to you....our BBQ (and I made a smoke motion)" they seemed a bit puzzled but accepted the flowers. They might not have been the right neighbors but hey the thought was there. I'll let you know when the next BBQ adventure takes place. We're considering BBQing in the roof next time.
