I sometimes forget

In the hustle and bustle of the church world some of the simplest things can be forgotten. I was reminded and inspired this week as I listened to an MP3 sermon from home. Lee Barbour, a wise wise man of the word, began his sermon by telling about a preacher in Northern Ireland who always started his sermon Bible passage readings with, "THIS IS GOD'S WORD AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS TO US AND WE LOVE IT". Something about the truth in that statement chokes me up. I've listened to the clip of Lee saying that about 10 times now and it lights a fire in my heart. I've never been the most faithful Bible reader/studier but when you here a simple yet powerful statement like that you can't help but remember how special the Bible is. I'm going to use that quote when I preach tomorrow and I hope the passages I share really soak in to the congregation.
